820-2769-A Green Light, No Chime, No Video, No Nothing

Hey, I have this air board here. 2769-A That gets a green light now and comes on, the fan is spinning to fast and so far I've been testing the power rails.

ppvcore_s0_cpu is .925V (1.25V)

pppcpuvtt_s0_reg is 1.05V (1.05V)

ppmcpcore_s0_reg is .931V (1.05V)

ppvtt_s0_ddr_ld0 is .669V (.75V)

ppvtt_s3_ddr_buf .674V (.75V)

pp1v05_s0_mcp is 1.05V (1.05V)

ppbus_g3h_r_out is 8.33V (8.4V)

I remembered from a youtube video I watched to check the v-core when there isn't a chime and low and behold it is coming up low all over the place.

A lot of other rails seem to be coming up a bit low and I'm not sure if there is a tolerance on these and how far it would extend.

I'm a little stuck here, any advice?

Chipmaster

I'm not as good with Apple as my peers.
by fans spinning fast, and no vcore. Usually a Bios.

I will let the others stomp on me over this, as I am not as much Apple as they are.

First thing's first, the back story. What's the story? Dropped? Spill damage? What do your eyes see?

Client refuses to admit anything, says it just stopped working. I can't say I 100% believe here. but there are no dents or dings, and the board is clean.

Looking around randomly with the microscope I see a lot of burned test points, but I'm not sure if thats normal since I just got the thing yesterday.

When I say story, I mean your story. Fuck the client. They always lie, more often to themselves than to you. They believe that if they believe they did nothing to it, that nothing will be wrong. It is a form of wishful thinking that plagues consumer electronics repair, like all the people coming in asking if it is just the cable, etc.

Take a picture of the burned test points. Also, does it smell like a spill?

I had a small emergency and had to leave the office a little early. I will take pictures for you tomorrow. there are a few suspect areas I know of already, I think. I just got this microscope so maybe its supposed to be like that.... Other than that the caseing is in good shape doesn't appear dropped at all, and no liquid smells either.

Anyways... Thanks so far I'll get back at it tomorrow.

I agree. Brown is normal, red is what you worry about.
